ECZEMA AND HOMEOPATHIC APPROACH

Updated: Sep 29

In February 2024, a 26-year-old female approached me with a severe and uncomfortable eczema flare-up. She had previously experienced episodes of eczema on her arms, shoulders, and back, but this time it had spread to her neck, back, legs, and even the top of her feet. The eczema was particularly concentrated in the folds of her neck, elbows, and face.

The client suffered from intense itching, redness, and dryness of the skin, which caused significant discomfort and irritation. It affected her sleep as she had to constantly scratch until she bled. Her body showed marks and scabs from the excessive scratching. Additionally, she found it difficult to tolerate heat, thick layers of clothes, and even taking a shower was uncomfortable.

During our discussion about her intolerances and allergies, she mentioned that gluten, tree pollen and dust mites might be contributing to her eczema.

There was also a history of eczema in her family.

After conducting a thorough analysis, I prescribed a homeopathic remedy Sulphur. We also discussed dietary changes, the importance of moisturising, and other measures to manage her condition.

During her follow-up appointment in March 2024, she reported noticing improvement after two weeks of taking the prescribed remedy. Although her eczema had not completely cleared, it was less itchy, and she experienced better sleep at night.

We continued with the same remedy.

In April 2024, during her next follow-up visit, the client said: “It made a difference! I feel better, and it seems like the eczema is almost gone.”

The eczema had cleared from her abdomen, back, and shoulders, with only remnants remaining on her arms, legs, and face. The itching had reduced significantly, leading to improved sleep and a happier overall state of mind.

When she visited me in June 2024, her skin had remarkably improved, and she looked very well. The client was delighted with the progress.
