Bowen Therapy

Gentle Moves. Profound Relief

Gentle movements for deep healing and balance

Bowen Therapy is a gentle, hands-on treatment that encourages the body to repair and rebalance. Safe for all ages — from newborn babies to pregnant women and the elderly — it’s a calming, non-invasive approach that supports both physical and emotional wellbeing.

Using light, rolling movements over muscles and fascia, Bowen helps reset the body’s natural healing responses. These subtle techniques can ease tension, improve circulation, and restore balance to the nervous system. Clients often describe the experience as deeply relaxing, like a reset for the body and mind.

What Bowen Can Help With

Stylized green flower with curved petals and leaves. Simple, elegant design creates a calm, minimalistic mood.

Many people find relief from both short and long-term conditions, such as:

  • Headaches and jaw problems

  • Neck, shoulder, and back pain

  • Sciatica and joint issues

  • Sports injuries and muscle strain

  • Digestive discomfort and fatigue

  • Stress, sleep issues, and more

How It Works

Illustrated green leaf. The simple design gives a natural and minimalist feel. No text present.

Bowen Therapy works with the fascia — the connective tissue that links the whole body together. By gently stimulating the fascia and nervous system, Bowen helps release tension, improve circulation, and break pain cycles, allowing the body to naturally realign and heal itself.

FAQ

  • Bowen therapy is a holistic, hands-on technique consisting of rolling motions applied by a practitioner to specific points on the body.

  • Bowen practitioners apply gentle, rolling movements with their thumbs or fingers. Soft pressure is applied to very specific points on the muscles, tendons and ligaments of the body. These points are rich in special receptors, enabling the movements used by Bowen practitioners to stimulate the central nervous system (CNS). The CNS then sends out signals to the parts of the body where adjustments, restoration and healing are needed.

  • Bowen therapy is safe for everyone, including babies, pregnant women and the elderly.

  • No, you do not have to undress. Bowen treatment can be done over loose-fitting, light clothing. We do not recommend wearing heavy or tight fabrics.

  • Initially, we recommend three sessions at 7-day intervals. However, some minor ailments may resolve after the first treatment, depending on your overall health. Further follow-up consultations can take place monthly or as required.

  • No, Bowen is not a massage. Bowen therapists don’t use any essential oils or lotions during treatment.

  • Yes, Bowen therapy and Homeopathy complement each other very well. In many cases, their combined use can accelerate recovery.

  • Bowen treatment is gentle and very relaxing. It resets the body’s systems from “fight or flight” response (the sympathetic nervous system) into “rest and digest” response (parasympathetic nervous system). Regular Bowen sessions may be very useful during challenging periods of your life.
